Veisiejų turgus prieš Kalėdas: eilė prie žuvies ir slidžių pardavėjų nusivylimas

Paskutiniame prieš Kalėdas Veisiejų turguje pirkėjai dairėsi arba kažko tradicinio, ne pirmą dešimtmetį privalomai dedamo ant šventinio stalo, arba kažko naujo – dar neragauto, neišbandyto, nedovanoto.

Geras turgus nuo pat vasaros sezono pabaigos Veisiejuose būna vos du ketvirtadienius – paskutinį prieš Kalėdas ir prieš Velykas. Nes būtent tada pirkėjai supranta, kad laukti ilgiau nebėra prasmės. Jeigu šventinėms vaišėms kažko nenusipirks dabar, tai beliks blaškytis po parduotuves, grūstis eilėse ir dar nebūtinai pavyks rasti. Lyg tyčia ketvirtadienio rytą dar ir oras pasitaikė tinkamas nesparčiam slampinėjimui po turgų: nešalta, nelyja, kelis kartus net saulutė pro debesis nušvito.

Visi per Kūčias norės žuvies, todėl jos pardavėjai vos spėja suktis. Kilogramas jūros ešerio kainuoja 6,80 euro, karpio – 3,80, skumbrės ir jūros lydekos – po 5,90, syko – 9,50, seliava arba lydekos filė – 9,90 euro. Eilė per visą turgų nenusidriekė, bet pastovėti kelias minutes tenka.

Tradicija, kad namai švenčių dienomis privalo kvepėti ne tik eglės spygliais bei karštu vynu, bet ir mandarinais, ko gero, yra senesnė už mane. Net ir sovietmečiu daugelis prieš šventes kažkur sugebėdavo tų mandarinų gauti, o dabar visas turgus jų ryškumu švyti iš tolo. Nenurankioti mandarinų lapai turėtų priminti, kad jie – šviežio derliaus, ką tik nuskinti. Kas tokių neturi, užrašo „saldūs“ – nereikės kiekvienam klausinėtojui aiškinti arba duoti paragauti. Kitas būtinas, bet jau kiek primirštas švenčių skanėstas yra riešutai. Kilogramas lazdyno riešutų Veisiejų turguje kainavo 3,99 euro, graikinių – 2,99.
